Gary Watkins joined the Glenkirk family as Transitional Pastor on January 6th. Born in Long Beach he is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary. Ordained in 1980, he served as Assistant then Associate Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Santa Ana. In 1987 he became the lead pastor at Christ Pacific Church, Huntington Beach, where he served for 30 years. More recently, he served as transitional lead pastor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Newport Beach. He served in the PCUSA until 2014 when he joined ECO. When in Los Ranchos Presbytery, he served as Chair of Polity and Records; Chair of the Development team for the Care of Pastors; Moderator of General Council, Moderator of the Permanant Judicial Commission; Moderator of the Presbytery; Member of the Synod PJC; Commissioner to Synod and Commissioner to General Assembly. Since joining ECO he has served as Moderator of the Presbytery and is currently on the Permanent Judicial Commission.Gary and Susan have been married 44 years and live in Huntington Beach. Their son and daughter are married and they have two young grandchildren. Susan and Gary share in a ministry of teaching, prayer and healing. Gary, God willing, will be in Kenya in June leading a conference on the Kingdom of God. Gary and Susan enjoy being with their family especially their grandchildren and traveling to experience new cultures and places. Gary’s passion is for people to experience the Glory and Loving Prescence of Jesus Christ.
